BEAUTY | You need this £4 palette in your life

make up revolution matte nude eyeshadow palette

You've probably seen a few of these floating around on your instagram feed over the past few months, and to be honest, you've probably read a few dodgy reviews on them... I definitely have! However after seeing them in the flesh for the first time in Superdrug recently, I decided to just go for it and give it a go for myself.

The main issue for me is that I'm a fashion blogger, and don't really post much about beauty at all (even though I love it!), and so I don't have an overflowing stash of makeup to plough through like a lot of bloggers out there so luckily do. The only real eyeshadow palette I owned (pre- makeup revolution) was my beloved Naked 3... and to be honest that is a damn good palette to be reliant on, with a gorgeous mix of nude mattes and shimmers for day & night looks, and the shades are perfect for my skin tone. Nevertheless, I was getting teeny bit bored (dare I say it) of the Naked 3, and scraping the barrel on my favourite colours, so I was in desperate need something new to get me through my everyday makeup.

In walks this beauty into my life. The Makeup Revolution Essential Mattes Redemption Eyeshadow Palette 2. As you can tell from the title, this palette is £4, yes.... £4! And for a student like me, I couldn't pass up on such a bloody bargain. The shades are great for everyday make-up, with 4 slightly varied neutrals for a base colour, which is great as it will take ages to run out, compared to the Naked 3 where you're limited to just the one lightening base shade pretty much. Then you've got a bunch of gorgeous crease shades , as well as a few darker shades if you want to dramatise your look a little and create more of a smokey eye. And, all of the shades are beautifully matte, which I LOVE!

The colours aren't the most pigmented in the world, when you compare it to more high-end products, but seriously, for the amount of money you're saving, I promise you'll be pleasantly surprised. After some of the reviews I'd read prior to buying this, I can definitely say I was! They are pretty damn good pigments for £4 and blend really well.

I have already used this palette quite a lot, so I'm sorry for the noticeable wear of some of the shades in the pictures, I'm not used to beauty blogging! I hope you've enjoyed this post, as it is something a little bit different for me, but I've enjoyed writing it! Let me know if you fancy more from where this came from, or want to know anything else about this palette, or maybe even a tutorial... let me know!

  2. Love Makeup Revolution, can't believe I haven't tried this yet! I've been looking for a decent matte eyeshadow palette for ages and I think this might be the one! So lovely. And hey - who has the patience to photograph beauty products before using them?! I always like to know that someone's actually using the products they recommend too!

  3. I've only used a few products from Makeup Revolution, but this is not one of them. It is such a bargain, you can always build it up to get the intense look and all these shades look so pretty!
